Gathoni Wamuchomba, a Member of Parliament (MP) from Githunguri, has criticized President William Ruto's suggested structure for his cabinet.

Speaking on tuesday, August 6, 2024, Wamuchomba referred to Ruto's concept of a broad-based administration as an antiquated political strategy in a statement posted on X.

She went on to say that if certain opposition members were appointed to the government, the nation would experience greater issues.

“The proposed government formation is a collection of Kenya’s problems brought together broad-based problems.

“This is an outdated political approach. We must seek to understand and interpret their script. They are the majority of Kenyans. Anyway, it’s a broad-based political chess board. Let the gameplay.” Wamuchomba said.

The outspoken legislature criticized the president for not listening to the protesters' demands and says Ruto ought not to have reappointed cabinet secretaries.

The youthful demonstrators, she continued, are patriots who do not value regional and tribal balance.

“Gen Z protestors demanded a new cabinet not reshuffled. Ignoring their demand is very worrying. These young patriots don’t appreciate tribal and regional balancing,” She said.
