This was after Mudavadi was pictured sitting side by side with President William Ruto and his US Host President Joe Biden. Th photos were shared by Ruto at The White House, Washington, D.C, where they had met for a technology roundtable with Biden and his team.
And as they say a picture is worth a thousand words, Mudavadi was pictured enjoying the executive powers and engaging with Biden's team, something that elicited speculations among Kenyans on the powers that Mudavadi could have acquired inside President Ruto's circles.
Others went ahead to speculate on whether the son of Hannah had taken over from DP Rigathi Gachagua as the country's second most powerful leader. This comes amidst roasty relationship between Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua, something that has caused jitters inside Gachagua's camp.
"In the eyes of the Deputy President Mudavadi is the Prime Cabinet Secretary.... In the heart of President Mudavadi is the Deputy President" stated one user on Facebook.
"He looks like a leader....calm and so composed. Being in his seat you must be informed better than the president himself on issues on the table. The mic could be passed anytime and you cant let your boss low" added another
Others claimed that this is a clear indication that Ruto could be molding Mudavadi for the big job after he exits the stage in 2032, should he get elected for the second term in 2027.
According to others, the president could be preparing the son of Mulembe for the DP's post in 2027, with rumours going round that Rigathi could face his axe from as early as 2027.
This has been supported by the fact that Mudavadi reportedly agreed to dissolve his ANC party recently to join forces with UDA party.
The President had summoned Mudavadi and Wetangula with their ANC and Ford Kenya allies to State House on March 2 hoping to convince them to fold up their entities ahead of this year’s Madaraka Day celebrations to be held in Bungoma.
