DP Gachagua Comes Out Guns Blazing, Demands Resignation of Ruto's Top Govt Officer

Months after President William Ruto withdrew the controversial Finance Bill of 2024, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has come out guns blazing.

Speaking in Mombasa, Gachagua directed his guns on National Intelligence Service Director (NIS) Noording Haji, saying he had failed the government of Kenya.

According to Gachagua, Noordin had failed in his job of advising the president on matters affecting the nation and hence embarrassing him forcing him to withdraw the bill.

"We have set up institutions especially the NIS, which we have realized there have been failures by this institution to advise the presidency on matters.. we have a dysfunctional Intelligence service" he stated.

He said had the NIS director advised Ruto accordingly, then the unfortunate embarrassment could have been avoided and saving Kenya and the government from embarrassment.

He said he was sympathizing with Ruto since NIS had failed him in their job, adding that the scenario would have been evaded months ago hence stopping what was witnessed recently in the country.

"I sympathize with Ruto because this information was not avai, led to him because he should have known this two months ago through NIS. If NIS was working, then so many Kenyans would not have died, they would have advised Ruto on what Kenyans did not want. Property and lives would have not been lost. This is an organization paid for by the public to advice the president but has failed the president. Senior officers have told me that they did not have enough intelligence on pending protests all over the country," he stated

He laid the blame bare on NIS director general, saying he transferred or demoted all officers who were senior to him immediately when he was promoted to the rank. He said Noording Haji should take the blame and immediately resign to allow Ruto pick a new director.

"Noordin Haji must take the responsibility for failing Ruto, Kenyans, and even the deaths of all Kenyans on Tuesday. He must step aside and allow the president to pick a competent general. Ruto deserves better, he deserves a better NIS and a director general who will assist him. It is embarrassing for Ruto to bow and apologize to Kenyans over the bill yet we had a NIS director who could not advise him appropriately

"I am aware that MPs who voted No have been targeted by NIS and warned but I want to assure the nation that this will not happen. The era of abductions is unfortunately back, AG Muturi's was abducted by NIS officers and kept in the dark something that is unfortunate. We promised never to use criminal justices to manage Kenya," he added

He applauded young Kenyans for standing with their country Kenya and standing against any oppression. He said as the DP, he would like to appeal to Gen Z to call off their planned protests since the president had done the right thing.

He also asked Ruto to consider compensating families that lost their children.
