A day after police raided businessman Jimi Wanjigi's home in Muthaiga, a video of his wife pleading with the special forces not to shoot her has emerged.
In the video shared by international journalist Allan Namu, the heavily armed anti-terror police could be seen making their way into Wanjigi's home in style. Wanjigi's wife could be heard pleading with them not to shoot her even as flashing laser lights took the room by storm
"Dont shoot me, do not shoot, do not shoot me in my house," Wanjigi's wife could be heard pleading in the video.
The officers immediately commanded her to lie down and surrender as the took strategic positions in the house to begin the search.
A multi-agency team, including heavily armed officers, surrounded the home in a bid to locate Wanjigi, who was reportedly absent during the searches.
It was reported that the police conducted three separate searches. One on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. when they breached the entrance, another at midnight and the last one on Friday morning at around 6:00 a.m
However, Wanjigi managed to escape and was not arrested. He was accused of funding the Nane Nane protests after he appeared at CBD on Thursday to join the protesters
