The youths totaling to hundreds were realized unconditionally after they were resented to the City's Magistrate court in Nairobi. Immediately they were set free, the Generation Z youths, who were armed with flags burst into dance and song as they sang anti-Ruto songs.
It was, however, the choice of one of their songs that elicited reactions online. The youths could be heard mocking President Ruto, claiming he has taken part in looting the country, adding that there will be no thief like him in times to come.
Police officers were forced to watch from a distance as the released youths danced their way out of the court's premises.
This came after ODM through its Director of Communications Philip Etale called for the unconditional release of all arrested protesters, saying that some of those arrested are persons with disabilities (PWDs) and noted that most are being held at the Central Police Station in Nairobi.
ODM said the freedom of expression is enshrined in the Constitution, allowing citizens to picket and present petitions to the government.
