"Alipiga Nduru Kwa Uchungu" Wife Speaks as 64-year-old Kwale Businessman Ambushed, Hacked to Death While Bathing Outside His House


Tungwa Katembe, a 64-year-old businessman, was brutally murdered by unknown attackers outside his home. The gruesome event took place as Katembe was bathing behind his house.

According to a police report seen by Citizen Digital, Katembe's family heard a chilling scream. "Alipiga nduru kwa uchungu" (He screamed in pain), his wife recalled. 

Responding quickly to the distressing sound, his wife and children rushed outside, only to find Katembe lying unconscious on the ground. He had a deep cut wound on the back of his head, inflicted by crude weapons wielded by the assailants.

The local police, including the Lunga Lunga Officer Commanding Station (OCS) and a team from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), were promptly called to the scene. 

They processed the area, gathering evidence and taking statements from the family and potential witnesses.

The body of Tungwa Katembe was later transported to Msambweni County Referral Hospital morgue, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. 

The incident has left the community in shock and mourning, as they try to come to terms with the sudden loss of a well-known and respected businessman.

Katembe's family described him as a loving husband and father, dedicated to his business and community. 

His untimely death has raised concerns about security in the area, with residents calling for increased police patrols to ensure their safety.

The motive behind this brutal murder remains unclear, and the police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the perpetrators. 

They are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in solving this case.

This incident has highlighted the need for vigilance and community cooperation in tackling crime. As the family of Tungwa Katembe mourns their loss, the entire village of Mahuruni stands in solidarity, hoping for justice and an end to such senseless violence.
