I only started with one tray of eggs. I used to go to streets of Changamwe and sell the eggs to various customers including my friends and others who were willing to buy eggs from me. I studied Diploma in Human Resources Management in Godoma Technical Training Institute, GTTI and since I was unable to get a job after my college studies I decided to be independent and started roadside selling of boiled eggs.
Hard work paid off eventually as my small business grew up slowly, from one
tray of eggs I started selling four trays within a few weeks. While selling the
boiled eggs, some of my customers inspired me to introduce selling smokies and
sausages, but because I had insufficient funds I was unable to introduce the
sausages and smokies in my business. The business was well in as much as I
realized small profits from the business, it was so outstanding as I was able
to provide food on my table and I could also save some amount. After about four
months of hitting the market the business started to depreciating as I started
realizing increased losses that almost led to the closure of the business.
The realization of loss was a result of increased taxation imposed to the
eggs and other related products like tomatoes, onions, chilly, pepper among
others. But this did not stop me from pushing on with my business and instead
started looking for ways to expand the business into a large scale retail
trade. My efforts of finding an amicable solution led me to social media where
