“I Saw Them Being Swept Away But Could Do Nothing, I've Only Been Left With Memories" Mai Mahiu Dad Pleads For Help In Finding Family Lost To Floods

The incident left him helpless as he watched his loved ones vanish without being able to save them. Two weeks after the disaster, Mr. Nganga buried his wife. Now, he is left clinging to memories and holding out hope of finding his missing children.

The Mai Mahiu tragedy struck suddenly and with little warning, affecting many families in the area. Mr. Nganga's family was among those caught in the disaster.

The scene that unfolded before his eyes was one of panic and despair. He recalls the moment with pain, feeling powerless as the disaster engulfed his family.

"My wife was buried two weeks after the incident," Mr. Nganga said, his voice heavy with sorrow. "What remains is finding my children. I have been left with only memories."

The tragedy has taken a significant toll on Mr. Nganga, both emotionally and mentally. The search for his children has been ongoing, but as time passes, his desperation grows.

Despite the efforts to locate them, their bodies have not yet been found. The uncertainty and lack of closure are agonizing, leaving Mr. Nganga in a state of profound grief.

Mr. Nganga has made a heartfelt plea to the government for assistance in finding his children. He hopes that more resources can be allocated to the search efforts and that more people will join in the mission to recover his lost family members.

His call for help is not just about finding his children but also about bringing some measure of peace to his shattered life.

"I saw them being swept away and I could not do anything to help," Mr. Nganga recalls. This haunting memory fuels his determination to keep searching, despite the daunting odds.

The local community has shown support for Mr. Nganga, but the task of finding his children remains a daunting one. Volunteers and officials have been involved in the search, but the challenging conditions have made progress slow.
