Ian Njoroge's mother, Ruth Nyambura, recently shared distressing details about the night her son was arrested following the Mirema incident.
On the evening of the arrest, Nyambura, who was away on a business trip, returned home to a startling scene.
Instead of the warm embrace of her son, she was greeted by the presence of police cars and a flying squad outside her residence.
Feeling a mix of confusion and fear, Nyambura entered her home only to witness a distressing sight: her son being pinned to the ground by police officers.
The shock of seeing her son in such a situation left Nyambura heartbroken and desperate for answers.
In her account of the events, Nyambura revealed that the police officers showed her a video purportedly depicting her son assaulting a police officer.
However, Nyambura vehemently disputed these claims, asserting that her son was raised in a godly manner and had never displayed such behavior before.
She described her son as polite and well-behaved, making the accusations against him even more difficult to comprehend.
Furthermore, Njoroge's defense team alleges that he was mistreated during his arrest. They claim that Njoroge, a first-year student, was subjected to physical abuse and inhumane treatment by the police officers.
According to the defense, Njoroge was severely battered, and his clothes were stained with blood as a result of the altercation.
As a mother, she is devastated by the accusations leveled against her son and the manner in which he was treated by the authorities.
