“I Used to Feel So Much Pain During My Periods, But Thank God, I Solved It Permanently”: Makerere Student Shares Her Journey

For many women, menstrual pain is a monthly reality that disrupts their lives. The cramps, discomfort, and emotional distress can be overwhelming. This was the case for a Makerere University student who, like countless others, suffered intense period pain. But now, she shares her relief and joy after finding a permanent solution.

From her teenage years into her early twenties, the student recounts how periods were always a time of dread. “I used to feel so much pain whenever my periods started. It wasn’t just a discomfort; it was agony. Some days, I couldn’t attend classes, and on the worst days, I was bedridden,” she recalls. The pain was so severe that it interfered with her academic performance and social life. Despite trying numerous remedies from painkillers to dietary changes nothing seemed to offer lasting relief.

Determined to find a solution, she visited doctors and specialists, but the results were disappointing. “I was prescribed painkillers and hormonal treatments, but they only masked the symptoms. The pain always came back,” she explains.

That’s when a friend suggested something different: Mugwenu Doctors, a renowned group of traditional healers based in Kenya. The student was initially skeptical, unsure whether traditional medicine would work. However, with her options running out, she decided to give it a try.

Mugwenu Doctors are known across East Africa for their healing abilities, blending natural remedies with spiritual guidance. The student booked a session with them, hoping for some relief from her debilitating periods. “I was nervous at first because I didn’t know what to expect. But when I met with the healer, I was reassured. They took time to understand my problem and explained that their treatment would address not just the symptoms but the root cause of my pain,” she shared.

The treatment involved herbal remedies and spiritual rituals designed to balance her body’s energies and alleviate the menstrual pain permanently. According to Mugwenu Doctors, menstrual pain can be linked to a variety of physical and emotional imbalances that require a holistic approach.

After completing the prescribed course of treatment, the results were astonishing. “The next time my period came, I braced myself for the usual pain, but it never came. I felt light cramps, but nothing like what I used to go through. I couldn’t believe it,” she exclaims.

Over the next few months, the pain continued to diminish, and she now reports being completely free from menstrual pain. “It’s been a life-changing experience. I can focus on my studies, my life, and I no longer dread my periods.”

The student’s story highlights not just her personal triumph but also the importance of breaking the stigma around seeking alternative treatments. “So many women suffer in silence, thinking there’s no solution. I want them to know there is hope, even if traditional medicine seems unconventional,” she says.

Menstrual pain can be debilitating, but for this Makerere University student, the answer lay in traditional healing with Mugwenu Doctors. Her journey from pain to freedom serves as inspiration for others who may feel trapped by similar struggles. “I used to feel so much pain, but thank God, I solved it permanently. And if I can, so can many other women out there,” she concludes.

This story is a reminder that when it comes to health, sometimes the best solutions lie outside the conventional path.
