Accompanied by key allies from the region, including the newly appointed Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Energy, Hon. Opiyo Wandayi, and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Ruto sought to address concerns about his administration's progress on development promises.
The event also saw the participation of local leaders such as Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro and Murang'a Governor Irungu Kanga'ata.
During his address, President Ruto explained why there have been delays in fulfilling his development promises for the region, including road construction, milk, coffee, and tea projects.
According to Ruto, the rejection of the 2024 Finance Bill has significantly impacted his ability to complete these projects.
He had initially allocated Ksh 130 billion for road development in the Mt Kenya region. However, due to the financial setback caused by the bill's rejection, his plans have been disrupted.
The President assured residents that despite these challenges, he remains committed to their development needs. He acknowledged that the Finance Bill’s rejection had forced him to rethink and reallocate his budget. 
This means that projects such as road construction and rural electricity connections, which were part of his campaign promises, may experience further delays.
Ruto stated, "You know I had planned for this job. I had allocated Ksh 130 billion for these roads, but people mixed me up on the Finance Bill and destroyed everything. But I will go again and plan for it. I will have to search for it."
His words indicate a strong resolve to overcome the financial hurdles and ensure that the promised developments are eventually realized.
In his speech, the President also highlighted his commitment to completing the Mau Mau road projects, which have been stalled for some time. He assured the people of Murang'a that these projects would receive additional funding to ensure their completion.
Additionally, Ruto reiterated his promise to extend electricity connections to rural areas, a key aspect of his campaign platform.
Despite the current setbacks, Ruto’s visit was also an opportunity to demonstrate his continued support for the region's development. The presence of local leaders and the launching of new projects were seen as positive steps towards addressing the region's infrastructure needs.
The President’s visit and the explanations provided were aimed at reassuring residents that their concerns are being taken seriously.
Ruto’s administration is actively working to resolve the financial issues that have impeded development progress and is seeking alternative solutions to fund and complete the stalled projects.
As Ruto plans to return to the drawing board and reassess his budget, the people of Mt Kenya are hopeful that the administration will fulfill its promises and deliver the long-awaited improvements.
The challenges faced due to the Finance Bill’s rejection have not deterred Ruto from his commitment to the region's development, and his ongoing efforts to mobilize resources are seen as a crucial step in overcoming the current obstacles.
