As the Azimio alliance prepares for the general elections of 2027, former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has asserted that former President Uhuru Kenyatta, who is the chairman, is the coalition's driving force.
Speaking on Sunday at a church service in Kiambu County, the head of the Wiper Democratic Movement, Kalonzo, urged the locals to join the next movement that the coalition will be forming.
"Going forward you should be part of the next movement which we are forming. Make no mistake because our brother Uhuru Kenyatta is with us,” Kalonzo remarked.
Kalonzo was accompanied by a group of Azimio leaders, including former Defence Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and former Ndaragwa MP Jeremiah Kioni, who stated that Kalonzo is now heading them ahead of the 2027 elections.
"The one we have been left now and who we'll walk with because there has to be an alternative is Kalonzo Musyoka," Kioni stated.
