BREAKING NEWS: All Primary And Secondary Schools Will Not Reopen For Third Term Due to This Reason

All primary and secondary schools in Kenya will remain closed for the third term due to a nationwide teacher's strike.

This action has been taken by the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) and the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) in response to the government’s failure to implement promised changes to teachers' pay and working conditions.

The strike comes after prolonged negotiations between the teachers' unions and the government.

Teachers have been demanding the implementation of a new Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) that was agreed upon earlier.

This agreement was intended to improve salaries and benefits for educators, but the government has yet to fulfill these promises.

The decision to keep schools closed has sparked significant concern among students, parents, and educational stakeholders.

For many students, this means a longer break from school, which could affect their academic progress and overall learning experience.

Parents are also feeling the strain, as they now have to find ways to keep their children engaged and productive during this extended break.

The teachers' unions argue that the strike is necessary to pressure the government into meeting its obligations.

They contend that the failure to honor the CBA undermines the value of their work and impacts their morale.

The unions believe that this measure is crucial for ensuring that teachers receive the fair compensation they were promised.

The government, on its part, has yet to make a formal statement regarding the strike’s impact on the school calendar.

Education officials are likely to face mounting pressure to address the issue and work towards a resolution that will allow schools to reopen and resume normal operations.

In the meantime, students and parents are advised to stay informed through official channels and prepare for the possibility of a prolonged closure.

Educational institutions are expected to communicate further details and updates as the situation evolves.
