Living in Riruta Satellite in 1985, Stella informed Daniel of her pregnancy while he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Njambi was born on January 24, 1986. Their first encounter was brief; Daniel met Njambi when she was four months old, shortly before his overseas posting, which kept him away for many years.
Her death came as a shock to many who admired her talent and passion. Just a day before his passing, Daniel Koikai attended his daughter’s funeral service at Nairobi Chapel.
It wasn't until Njambi was in Form One at Ngara Girls that Daniel saw her again. She visited him in her school uniform, seeking him out after his return to Kenya. The reunion was bittersweet as Daniel saw his reflection in Njambi but also realized the extent of their lost time. They discussed her education, marking a rare moment of connection.
