Police in Nairobi have recovered four stolen cars from a house in Kamulu. The discovery came after a report about a stolen Toyota Ractis on June 10.
This report was made at the Buruburu Police Station after the car was taken from Umoja Innercore, a residential area in Nairobi.
Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) followed leads to a house on Josna Road in Kamulu. When they arrived, they found the stolen Toyota Ractis being dismantled.
Along with this car, they found three other vehicles: a blue Mazda Demio, a silver Suzuki Mira, and a white Toyota Paseo that had been repainted from blue.
The suspect, identified as Selasio Kiura, was arrested at the scene. He is believed to be behind the theft of these vehicles. The recovered cars, along with Kiura, were taken to the Buruburu Police Station.
The investigation began when the owner of the Toyota Ractis, with registration number KDJ 366C, reported it missing shortly after parking it.
This led to an investigation involving DCI detectives from Nairobi, Buruburu, and Kamulu. They acted quickly on the information they gathered, leading them to the Kamulu residence where the cars were hidden.
At the scene, officers found not only the stolen Toyota Ractis but also a blue Mazda Demio with registration number KCW 831N, a silver Suzuki Mira with registration number KDB 308P, and a white Toyota Paseo with registration number KCW 346L. The Toyota Paseo had been repainted from its original blue color.
The vehicles were thoroughly documented by Buruburu Crime Scene Investigation detectives before being towed to the Buruburu Police Station. This ensured that all evidence was properly recorded for the ongoing investigation.
