"It's Hurting Me" Nairobi Man Emotionally Pleads For Help To Remove Bullet Lodged In Hand For 8 Years

Evance Ochieng', a man from Korogocho in Nairobi, has been living with a bullet in his hand for eight long years. In 2016, a stray bullet hit him during a violent clash between boda boda riders and police in his neighborhood.

The bullet entered his stomach, damaging his intestines before lodging in his right arm.Since the incident, Ochieng' has struggled with severe pain. He has had trouble breathing and performing daily activities.

His condition has affected his ability to work, leaving him unable to provide for his family. Despite his suffering, he has not returned to the hospital for treatment because he lacks the financial means to do so.

Ochieng' described the pain as unbearable and is fearful for his life. "The pain in my hand is too much. It makes it hard for me to breathe, and I can't work or support my family," he said in a recent interview.

The bullet wound initially caused significant damage. Ochieng' underwent several operations on his abdomen to repair his ruptured intestines.

However, due to financial constraints, he couldn't afford the surgery needed to remove the bullet from his arm. Now, eight years later, the bullet remains, causing continuous pain and discomfort.

Ochieng' is urgently appealing for help to cover the costs of the surgery he needs. "I need help to have the bullet removed so I can return to my daily life and work. I have been in pain for too long," he pleaded.

Living with the bullet has disrupted Ochieng's life and affected his ability to care for his two children. His inability to work has placed a heavy burden on his family.

The pain and difficulty in breathing have made everyday tasks a struggle. He dreams of a day when he can be free from pain and live a normal life again.
